Fasan
A beautiful poster depicting a pheasant, originating from the work "Natur-Geschichte der Deutschen Vögel" by C.G. Friderich. This exceptional work by the 19th-century German ornithologist was published in 1891 in Stuttgart by Julius Hoffmann. Friderich combined scientific accuracy with an artistic approach in his works, making his illustrations not only useful for researchers but also appealing to a wider audience. The pheasant is one of the most magnificent birds of the pheasant family, valued for both its hunting and aesthetic qualities. The print shows the male in full splendor, highlighting the richness of its coloration. The dark, metallic sheen of the head with a distinctive red wattle around the eye and the coppery-rusty body covered with an intricate scale-like pattern are particularly striking. However, the most spectacular feature of its silhouette is the extraordinarily long, sharply pointed tail with distinct transverse barring. Friderich's illustration faithfully captures the majesty and ornamental character of this species.
We photograph each illustration in ultra-high resolution and carefully remove age spots, restoring its brilliance from centuries ago.
