A beautiful poster depicting the Fishing frog from the work “British Fishes”. The author is Robert Hamilton, a British naturalist and 19th-century author. He specialized in detailed illustrations of fish and other aquatic animals. The work was published in 1843 by W. H. Lizars of Edinburgh. The series “The Naturalist’s Library”, to which this book belongs, was managed by Sir William Jardine, a Scottish naturalist and publisher. Jardine served as the editor and organizer of the entire series, ensuring the quality and selection of authors and illustrators.
