Common Yew

Beautiful poster depicting the anatomy of the common yew (Taxus baccata) from the work "Die Bäume und Sträucher des Waldes in botanischer und forstwirthschaftlicher Beziehung" (Trees and Shrubs of the Forest in Botanical and Forestry Context) by Gustav Hempel and Karl Wilhelm. This exceptional work was published in 1892 in Vienna by Ed. Hölzel, and illustrated by the painter W. Liepoldt, who created the original watercolors from which the colorful plates were made.
