Dzięcielina is a helpful herb for a woman when she begins to fade into menopause.
Dzięcielina is a regional and Old Polish name for this commonly occurring plant. Koniczyna, by contrast, is a name derived from horses’ fondness for it.
The most commonly encountered varieties are white and red.
White clover contains, among other things, tannins, flavonoids, vitamin C, as well as essential oils.
It is characterized by antidiarrheal, antirheumatic, and anti-arthritic properties. An infusion made from its flowers may be used in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections.
Red clover is rich in vitamins A, B, C, E, and P, as well as potassium, calcium, magnesium, selenium, copper, chromium, iron, and zinc. It also contains substances such as phenolic acids, anthocyanins, tannins, essential oils, and most importantly, isoflavonoids (which act in a manner similar to estrogens).
This plant helps regulate appetite, supports the cardiovascular system, eases expectoration, and has antispasmodic and diuretic effects.
Most often, however, it is used in remedies for women during menopause, as it effectively reduces hot flashes, slows bone demineralization, lowers blood cholesterol levels, and improves mood.
Clover is used in the production of supplements, infusions, juices, and cosmetics alike.
The latter are especially recommended for acne-prone and couperose skin.
